Dell Inspiron M5010
Updated to Windows 10. Computer was working fine.
About 1 month in screen flashes and I see two thick black borders on the side of the display (like 4:3 mode on a widescreen TV).
After a restart the max resolution I can apply now is 1024x768
I have read the forums and tried to install the legacy AMD driver with no joy.
A dell self diagnostic test for my computer states I have an "ATI mobility radeon hd 4650" which is functioning perfectly.
Any help??

Hi Ali-777,
Thanks for posting.
Apologies that your computer is not working as expected.
Have you tried using an external monitor, and what happens? Are you seeing the same thing there too?
Looks like you've run the Support Assist diagnostics, perhaps contacting Tech Support for further troubleshooting. You can contact Tech Support at 1-800-624-9896 or 1-800-288-4410, or you can initiate a chat session http://dell.to/2v4snVm

Unfortunately I do not have an external monitor.
Running the test you mention i get no errors. I see the message below
"Diagnostic result: No Issues Found.
The diagnostic scan was not able to determine the cause of your issue.
Please use one of the methods below to contact us and a Dell support expert will assist you."
Any suggestions?

You need an external monitor to troubleshoot. Borrow a friend's or take take your laptop to work and use one there.
