Cant connect my Dell Inspiron 15R 5521 ( Intel HD 4000 switchable to 2GB AMD Radeon 8730) to HD Monitor via HDMI.

I tried all possible methods in catalyst control and intel display utility in Windows 8 to get my 15R 5521 Laptop  detected via HDMI cable on my 21.5 inch BenQ E2200 LCD monitor, but in vain. Is there a solution to this? Initially I thought it was the HDMI cable issue, but then it works perfectly on my PS3 gaming console. Also the same cable hooks the PS3 console perfectly on to my LG HDTV as well.
