That shouldn't be a problem. What model of computer and docking station do you have?

Yes, although depending on your docking station model you may need a DVI or DisplayPort to HDMI adapter.

I have a D3100 Docking station,  I know I can connect the TV to my computer with HDI cable, but I am just seeing on my TV what I have in my computer screen and when I go to the settings and I try to detect the second monitor, in this case my TV, it doesn't found it or maybe I am doing something wrong

You have to switch your Display Settings from "Clone" to "Extend" in Display Settings.  At that point, you will be able to manage the internal display and the TV separately.
