Wont start
My Dell Studio XPS 7100 will not start! When I push the power button it beeps 5 times, pauses, beeps 5 times, and keeps on with this sequence till I shut it off. Any help would be appreciated!!!

Hi there,
I looked up the Diagnostics and this means that the CMOS battery (the little coin cell battery on the motherboard) has failed. It should be very easy to replace, here is a link to the Service Manual, once you remove it you will want to replace it with the same model battery (typically a few dollars at the store).
One quick question, does the power button stay solid and orange while the 5 beeps are happening? If so, then what I suggested above should be it, but If it is more or less than 5 it could change the issue entirely, but being that this system is a bit older there is a good chance that it might just be the battery and that this will be a quick fix.
Best regards,
Brad

Power button is solid white when turned on, once the beeping starts it flashes in orange. I will try the CMOS battery ans hope this does the trick. Thanks so much for your input.
