Will not boot

I have just bought a brand new Inspiron desktop which came yesterday, but it will not boot past the Dell logo. I have tried unplugging all the peripherals and forcing a restart as well as going to factory settings by pressing F2 at the Dell logo. The Dell support line is not open on the weekends (!!) And I really wanted to have a play with it this weekend. Can anybody help?? Please??

From your description, it will be best to wait for Dell Support.  If there is a problem, only Dell can correct it under warranty.  

However, you can open the case and check all the cabling for proper seating on connectors as sometimes they can come loose in transit.

Another option, if you bought it locally is to take it back and get a replacement.
