Vostro 430 + Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti
Hi there! Im Pascual from Argentina. Im looking for an upgrade on my vostro 430 for running some games (GTA V, Gran Turismo)
I want to be sure before buying the compatibility of the hardware of my Vostro 430 with the Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti Msi cardboard. It is enough with the 350W PSU? I have the original setup (i5-750 + 2*2GB ram) + 1TB HDD.
Thank you!

There are others on the forum with XPS 8300 with bios 2.4.0 and GTX1060 worked just fine.
You may have hurdles to jump if you are at 1.0.1 aka you cant go from 1.0 to max in 1 step.
The installer will tell you this.
Bios updates should be done with Antivirus ESPECIALLY AVG/NORTON/MCAFEE REMOVED UNINSTALLED KILLED GONE!
If you try this with the above Antivirus software installed you may brick your machine never to work again. :emotion-3:
AVG Remover
(AVG_Remover.exe)

The 1050, 1060, 1070, 1080 are all in the same family PASCAL. The difference is the $COST and the power supply requirements.
The Dell Precision T1500 System BIOS, Vostro 430 BIOS, 2.4.0 are one and the same hardware. Dell XPS 8300 and Vostro 460 are also the same. There should be no issues with 1050TI video card.

UEFI is not required. New Dell is not required.
The PC in the video Below is DXP051 XPS 400 BIOS A02 with Pentium D 830 processor. With 32 Bit Windows 10 and an XFX GTX 1080 and an external power supply for the video card.

Thank you

1050TI that is not overclocked works fine in Inspiron 3650 with 270W power supply. Overclocked 1050TI or 1060 1070 1080 will require a bigger power supply,

Seems as though some of the posters here are talking right past you. Here's what you need to know. You can easily install an superclocked 1050 Ti in your computer. I have this one installed in my Inspiron 3847 and it has worked like a charm for the past year: www.newegg.com/.../Product.aspx.
My PC has only a 300 watt PS, I believe, so ...
The reason you can use 1050 Ti with the stock supply, but would probably not be able to use a 1060 or greater, is that the 1050/1050 Ti run perfectly fine on the 75 watts supplied by the PCI-Express X16 slot on the motherboard. The other cards need a separate power connection and, therefore, need a more powerful power supply.
I hope this has been helpful. The 1050 Ti is a very fine card and I think you'll like it.

Some of the super clocked versions DO USE 6 pin Aux power.
