Optiplex SFF 760 - 'low profile' PCIe?
Hi,
I want to add an audio PCIe interface to my SFF 760. The pc specifications list the PCIe slot as 'low profile' but I don't know what low profile means here. How can I determine whether the card I want will be okay or not for this low profile PCIe slot please?

Never mind. I have found a work-around. There is a usb powered interface which will allow me to control it from the 760's monitor, no shortage of usb sockets on the 760.

Hi Ric,
I have the included a picture of a PCIe expansion card that provides the difference between Full-Height Bracket and Low-Profile Bracket.
You will need to purchase a PCIe sound card that has a Low-Profile Bracket and add it to the OptiPlex 760 SFF Desktop.
Please let me know if you need further information.

Gosh, that limits options? Is there no way to customise a high profile bracket to fit a low profile space? I doubt that many low profile brackets were manufactured? Alternatively, might there be some type of adapter which will plug into the PCIe slot and allow a high profile card to fit to it?
There is an article here which suggests that PCI tailstocks can indeed be removed and replaced?

Low-profile chassis are common these days, and many cards are furnished with low-profile brackets.
