Optiplex DT 7010 Ram Upgrade
I own many Optiplex DT 7010's, purchased with 4GB of ram. The Dell technical manual suggests (4) 4x4gb DDR3 PC3 12800R maximum. I purchased (4) pcs, as specified, but they did not work. Looking at the existing 4mb ram it states 2rx8 on it, but the 4 purchased parts state 2Rx4. Is this the reason these will not work, and do I need to purchase (4) x 2Rx8's?

What does the crucial memory configurator tell you on crucial's website? What brand/specs RAM is this? It is good of you to notice the 2rx8 specs, that may be part of the issue.
Do you have the latest BIOS's installed?

DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.5V • 256Meg x 64 •
I have not updated the BIOS, should that be done, for a better memory upgrade?
