Optiplex 740 - after Bios update Raid seems activated and cannot find harddisk?

After flashing my OPtiplex 740 to the newest Bios (2.2.7) Raid seems to be activated and cannot find the harddisk.

In the bios i can see the drive as Drive-0 SATA-0 with its id and GB, but in boot sequence it says "not present".

I was running win 7and it is an Athlon 64 3800+ cpu.

Is it possible to flash the old bios without getting into win?

There doesn't seem to be an Sata operation menu in the bios.

Can somebody help?

Thanks in advance!

Open BIOS setup and look for the Floppy Disk option and Disable it. Be sure to save the change before exiting setup.

Dell doesn't support Win 7 on this system. So if disabling the floppy controller in BIOS doesn't give you access to the card reader, you can then try installing the Vista card reader driver.  Manually set a system restore point before installing that driver, to be safe, and there's no guarantee that the Vista driver will work with Win 7 on your system:

What form factor,  minitower, desktop, small form?

What color is the power button when it won't boot and is it steady or blinking?

What color are the 4 diagnostic LEDs on the front panel when it won't boot?

Look up power button and diagnostic error codes in manual:  downloads.dell.com/.../optiplex-740_setup guide_en-us.pdf

Have you tried clearing BIOS by removing the motherboard battery, pressing/holding power button for ~30 sec and then reinstalling the battery?

Always power off, unplug and press/hold power button  for ~15 sec before opening the case.

It's a desktop. I put the bios to default configuration / factory settings in bios menu. Now it boots fine. But it shows a Floppy disk, where there is a cardreader. How do i change that? Just installing a driver?

Thank you for helping!
