Optiplex 7010 (SFF) gtx 1050ti (SFF) no output on 4k 60HZ
I´m experience a bit of a problem with this machine when i try to hook it up to my Samsung smart tv (2016 HDMI 2.0)
It works flawless in 1080P. If i use 4K 60hz it won't send the signal to my tv every other boot, if i send the pc to sleep it will send the signal at wake and work as intended. The problem is the initial boot. First i salved the problem by turning UHDcolor off and on to get the signal but now that won't work anymore, i have to restart the pc (sometimes several times) to get the tv to display the picture?
There is no problem at 1080P and when using my other monitor (1440P) there is no problem, there seems to be a problem at 4k resolution only. I also tested my other pc with the Samsung tv and it handle the 4k signal without any issue (gtx 1060).
Is this a bug, or perhaps a resolution never intended to work on Optiplex 7010?

Hi ulanddanne,
Thanks for posting.
Apologies for your computer not doing what you expected, however there are a few factors:
1. We never tested the 2016 GTX 1050Ti in the out of warranty 2012 Optiplex 7010.
2. We cannot know how our BIOS will respond to the 2016 GTX 1050Ti on bootup. Also, we cannot know if the drivers required by the 2016 GTX 1050Ti are even installing correctly in our 2012 chipset.
Even though this may work, it is out of the scope of Dell's Tech Support, and not supported.

Hi Robert!
I´m fully aware of the age of Optiplex 7010 and that Dell can't update bios for all eternity, fact is Ivy bridge-systems seems to coop with latest gen GPUs rather well generally.
I´m not expecting Dell to release new bios for 7010. If any other user experience the same problem it could help identifying the problem, is it a "BIOS-Problem" or perhaps something else?

Display port 1.2 is the primary vector for 4k. You need HDMI 2.0b to enjoy your 4K monitor at 60Hz and you probably need new cables. What HDMI 2.0b does not define, is a which vendors HDMI cables work at 60hz and which model TV and Video card etc is required. Dell did not make your video card nor your TV therefore the "support" for it not working is not forthcoming from Dell.

There doesn't appear to be clear IEEE standards for the cables listed below.

Yeah, but nope. Thats not it. I have a certified HDMI-cable (newly purchased 4k 60hz 2.0b cable), and it work flawlessly with the GTX 1060 hooked up to the tv. It works with the Dell 7010 as well, when the machine sends the right signal at boot up (every other boot).
