Optiplex 3050 - No Wake On LAN
I have set the options in the BIOS and in Windows. Yet when I shut down the computer I have no link or activity LEDs on the NIC. This (at least from what I hear) indicated that Wake On LAN is not set up or doesn't work. Any ideas?

It is an Optiplex 3050 not an Inspirion 3050. The settings are totally different.....

It definitely looks like a problem with the Optiplex 3050 and maybe the power supply. WOL works if, after shutting the computer down, you unplug the AC adapted and plug it back in. That causes the Link light on the NIC to come on at which point Wake On LAN works. Another stellar job by Dell and their support team :)

Have you tried changing the Deep Sleep Control settings in BIOS setup?
Sorry about the link to the Inspiron 3050, but this is not the way to contact Dell Tech Support. This is a user-to-user forum with only occasional input from Dell Tech Support.

My tech contact suggested you do this:
Open the BIOS System Logs BIOS Events. Is there anything listed that's related to WOL?
Open every field in BIOS setup and copy down the current settings. Be sure to save that record for reference. Then, click "Restore Settings" to reset the BIOS to Factory Defaults. Now compare the settings you copied to the Factory Defaults. Any major differences? Post those differences here.
Test WOL after resetting BIOS to the defaults and post the WOL results here.
And be sure to mention exactly what version of Windows you're running, and if it's Win 10, which update do you have, Anniversary, Creators Update or the brand new Fall Creators Update?

Hello,
Same problem here BUT, I put deep sleep control to Disabled, and Wake on LAN to LAN Only.
My Bios is 1.7.4
I even disabled Hybrid Sleep into Windows 10, but still I can't wake on lan my computer.
I need to unplug and plug the power cord to be able to wake on lan...
Any tips ?
