Need Video drivers for Inspiron 570

Dell does not list them and on their FTP site they list over 20 video drivers. Motherboard says MA785R with the Dell part number of 04GJJT.

How do you find the correct driver without downloading 20 drivers and testing them?

Hi forjonny,

Thanks for posting.

Apologies that you're having difficulties finding drivers for your computer.  When looking at the support page, which Operating System are you using?

Here is the link to the drivers page for Windows 7:  http://del.ly/6595D8A5l

You can put your Service Tag in the search box and the correct drivers will be shown.  You may wish to figure which video card you have so to narrow down the search.  The inventory of your computer can be found here:  http://del.ly/6597D8A5W

Gonk!----- Wrong!

That was a wrong answer. I did look under the Service tag and got three drivers only. Used to be that it would say More or Find them myself and I can find more drivers from the same page. That was not there on this website. Is this the New Dell driver format now?!

The other link you gave me showed me the Inspiron 570 but did not, I repeat did not, I repeat again, did not find the video drivers at all so that was a waste of time researching that link.

Dell does not list them on their Service Tag search site. On their FTP site they list over 20 video drivers.

Dell Detect did not find them. Don't know why but read on.

I did fix the problem by downloading 5 video drivers and installing them one by one. I finally got one that worked but it is time consuming and Dell Detect should say which one I really need. Maybe that program is not smart enough to find the chipset for the video drivers. That's what it is. It is a lousy program that cannot find the proper drivers.

So that's why you have to suffer and download a bunch of drivers until one works. I thought only Toshiba had that issue with their stupid website. Dell is taking lessons from Toshiba I suppose.

Should be an easier way. It shouldn't take an hour to find and put drivers on a Dell computer from the Dell website.

I take it they want us to call them and pay them to help us even though we are techs. They know how to make it rough for you so they can make money from you.

This only makes me up my prices for tech support. I guess I'll have to do that.

Anyhow thanks for nothing. I have been doing computers since 1999 so don't try to tell me how to do drivers, monkey.

I am just saying that I don't want to put a bunch of Video drivers on this computer or any computer just to see if these are the correct drivers. Then more video drivers and more and more and more and maybe one will hit and work. Sometimes even the one that works is not the correct driver and does not give you all the resolutions. I just wish that Dell Detect worked better and finds the right driver the first time.

PCI-E Video may not enumerate properly without chipset drivers installed first.  You don't need dell detect you need the hardware ID's of the video or any other part that isn't working.  nVidia uses PCI vendor id of PCI\VEN_10de

ATI uses PCI\VEN_1002

You don't have to put a bunch of drivers.   This is not the psychic friends network so if you aren't going to open the cover and look for the DPN on the video card or check HARDWARE ID's in Device manager there isn't much help available ever.

Dell usually isn't this hard for finding the right drivers. Just this model I suppose they used many different motherboards for this same model. Anyhow I eventually found the driver by going thru four different video drivers and one stuck. I saved it to the Driver folder for future use.
