Inspiron 5675 Gaming version - HDD upgrade to SSD
I bought this PC about a week ago and want to change out the HDD (7200rpm) disk for a SSD as my primary C: drive to boot Windows.
My question is, would my warranty be cancelled if I did this myself?
and secondly, should I clone the HDD onto the SSD or do a clean install on the SSD? I guess the clone option is preferred as this will preserve all the Dell stuff and also the partitions on the HDD that Dell put on for the recovery drive etc.?

Dell policy on adding 3rd party hardware
* You can add hardware to the computer and not void the purchased Dell warranty on the hardware shipped by Dell. There are exceptions;
- Dell can only support what Dell installed. Those added items would have their own manufacturers warranty
- Any damage done to the computer components while installing 3rd party hardware will not be covered
- You may be asked by a Dell technician when troubleshooting problems with your computer to remove any items added after it was shipped by Dell
Review the Inspiron 5675 Service Manual before proceeding.
I would do a clean install of the operating system onto the SSD. The Dell image and partitions will take up too much space on the SSD. Once the operating system and drivers are installed and updated, use Windows 10 to create a new "backup".
