I just recently bought the Inspiron 5675 and I don't know what all I would need to install an SSD.

Hey everybody,

I just recently bought the Inspiron 5675 gaming desktop (the Ryzen 7 model), and I also bought a 250gb Samsung SSD to put my OS and some of my more popular games on. I've never installed an SSD before, and the specifics I need are not on the page for the desktop. I'm wondering what things I'll need to install the SSD.

1. Does the 2.5" drive bay have the screws needed to mount an SSD?

2. Does the computer come with a SATA cable, or does that need to be bought separately?

3. Does the power supply have a power connector for the SSD?

Questions, 1 and 2 I'm pretty certain I know the answer to, but I really need to figure out the answer to question 3. I've already waited a long time to get this desktop, and I really don't want to have to wait longer once I get it, because I didn't know what I should have bought ahead of time. Thanks for your help!

I don't have a 5675,  but I've never seen any dell desktop include an extra SATA cable or screws for additional drives. The PSU should have SATA power connections for all available drive bays.

So you think they won't have a bag of screws with the computer? I would think if there already is a 2.5" drive bay then it would have the screws necessary.

I've never had a dell desktop that had extra screws included.

there is a much simpler solution.  there is a m.2 ssd slot on the mother board(#16 on the chart in this link):  www.dell.com/.../system-board-components
