geforce 310 on enhanced 740 desktop
My geforce 310 is not even recognized by motherboard of my optiplex 740 enhanced desktop, are they not compatible or i have got a faulty graphic card?

I see that the card requires a 300w min power supply and your system shipped with a 280. Other than this I see no reason the card would not work.

first of all thanks for reply, yeah i know the psu is only 280w, i tried on 400w one and the result is same but the seller of 310 geforce assures me that this one works.

Thank u for a reply, and sorry for saying this but in my oppinion u have no clue what u r saying. I m using nvidia geforce 7800 gtx on 740 with better psu and it works better then great, before it i tried 6600, geforce as well.
On this post i m asking about video card's not add-ons, the amazon link is not a graphic or video card it is standard dells extension for dvi monitors.

The 740 chipset does not work with Geforce based expansion cards.
nVIDIA ® Quadro ® NVS 210S Chipset (North Bridge)(Integrated)
NVIDIA Quadro NVS 210S / NVIDIA GeForce 6150LE
nForce 430 (South Bridge)
Add in cards are just bridge to the integraded GPU.
