Desktop new Hard drive incorrect status E3

Hello

My inspiron 620 was indicating an issue with the hard drive which indeed crashed later

I purchased a new hard drive, however I could not insrall Windows on it.

After several tries I run the diagnostic tool which is indicating the error code 2000-0151 incorrect status E3

As I doubt that the new hard drive is damaged too, would you please tell me what could be the issue  (mother board...)?

Did you format the new hard drive?

Did you connect the new drive to the SATA0 port on the motherboard?  Have you checked the connections to the new drive?  You can also reset BIOS to see if that clears the error. Unplug PC and press/hold power button for ~15 sec. Remove the motherboard battery and press/hold power button for ~30 sec. Reinstall the battery.

Now reboot and immediately press F2 to open BIOS setup. See if the new drive is correctly recognized on SATA0.

And it is possible the new drive is defective...

The drive IS Physically Damaged and you are dyslexic about the error.

Error Code 2000-0151 - Hard Drive incorrect status 3E Smart Predicitve Failure

There are no soft fixes for BAD Drives.

S.M.A.R.T. is a monitoring system included in computer disk drives that detects and reports on various indicators of drive reliability, with the intent of enabling the reporting of hardware failures. When S.M.A.R.T. data indicates imminent PERMANENT drive failure, BIOS and diagnostics running on the host system will notify the user so stored data can be copied to another storage device, preventing data loss, the failing drive must be replaced IMMEDIATELY.
