DELL XPS 8920 without Intel Optane M.2 installed

Hi,

I just purchased a DELL XPS 8920 with 1TB SATA drive and believe it does not have the Intel Optane installed.  I am wanting to know if the you purchase the Intel Optane memory, does it go in the slot identified as #8 solid-state drive slot (M.2 SSD) on the motherboard diagram , or does the motherboard have to have a dedicated M2 slot for Intel Optane.  I have the install procedure from DELL, but not clear if a Dell XPS with Optane has a different board from mine.  Thank for the help.
