Dell SE2416H monitor turns off after approx 5-10 seconds.

It is really disappointing that this monitor started having problems when it was less than 2 years old.  Anyway, here is the issue.  Monitor will turn off every time after approx 3-5 seconds.  I tried connections, running the built in trouble shooting.  I tried hooking it up to a PC, and also a PS3 and same thing happens.  It is not under any warranty.  Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have a feeling it just needs to be sent to the recycler.  Very sad for something to fail this quickly.  Thanks

Have you tried using a different type of input video port than the one you've been using?

Sure it's not under warranty? Read the monitor warranty FAQs: en.community.dell.com/.../19679196

Thank you for the info Ron.  I actually had just set this monitor aside figuring it was a lost cause, but I don't remember for sure if I tried the HDMI port .  I will give it a try tomorrow and we what happens.  I have a feeling it will still do the same thing but worth trying.  As far as the warranty goes I am not the original owner, so I am pretty sure i don't have any coverage, and I doubt the person I got it from will want to bother with sending it in.   Oh well:)

If you know the original owner and they're willing to cooperate by giving you the relevant purchase info, you may be able to transfer ownership to your name, so you can send it back.
