You may need to reinstall your Chipset and Video card drivers back into the computer since the update may have removed them or installed a different video card driver.

VGA or HDMI malfunction

VGA or HDMI is not working: Confirm the VGA/HDMI cable is right and connected to the right input source.

In the Sound Properties in Control Panel.

The monitor's speaker cannot be used
No sound when using speaker
Verify if the speakers are connected in the computers default playback setting.

Check that the volume bar level is not set to 0%.

There is a option of Audio to set MaxxAudio to On or OFF.
Menu-> Audio-> MaxxAudio-> On & Off.

Speaker troubleshooting
Speaker has no sound:

The DIN cable should be plugged into the Dell monitor DIN connector.

Check the DIN cable and speaker setup.
Verify the DIN plug pins are not damaged.
Check if the speaker is properly set up. Proceed to Setting Up Your Speaker.
The Speaker is connected to the Dell Monitor but no sound is coming out. Go to the Link Computer Playback Default Setting.
Make sure the audio source player is playing music.
Confirm the computer volume and media player volume level are at desirable levels and not muted.
Check the playback default setting on the computer and ensure the default device is set.
The audio source is playing music, but no sound is coming out of the speakers.
Press the volume + button to increase the volume.
Check that the computer volume is not 0% by performing the following steps:
Click the speaker icon.
Adjust the volume level on the volume bar.
Set the volume control options by performing the following steps:
Right-click the speaker icon.
Select the volume-control options.
Click the box entitled All devices currently playing sound.

Thanks for response, but I've tried everything mentioned here. My monitor works just fine with other devices, but it's not a case of my laptop. I've been on every possible forum about this issue, but I found out there is no solution for my laptop. I just want to ask if there are other ways of using monitor speakers, if HDMI sound doesn't work. I'm curious about Audio In port and how it works, because I can't find information about it's usage in manual. For example, when I connect monitor to my laptop with HDMI (sound doesn't work because of driver), but should it works if I also connect jack-jack (laptop audio out - > monitor audio in). So question is, if there is any other way of using monitor speaker, but not through HDMI?
