Dell OS Recovery Tool Not Working

I downloaded and installed Dell OS recovery tool but every time i enter my Service Tag i get error " unable to connect to backend " although the Service Tag is correct.

My Device Is XPS 12 9250

I get the same for XPS 13. Does this mean Dell backend servers are down, or some other problem?

I have the same problem...   but now trying an old version of the recovery image from early 2016 when I bought my DELL XSP 13.  getting up to 91%...  However I like to find out why I am getting this situation in the first place.. this is now the 2nd occurrence in 6 months where my SDD failed.

My tech contact said Dell is fully aware that some online tools are down. I don't have an ETA when things will be up again, so you should wait a while and try again.  

If I hear anything more specific, I'll be sure to post it here...
