Do you have a single hard drive or is this a RAID 0 or RAID 1setup?

Reboot and immediately press F2 to open BIOS setup. Check to see how SATA Operation is set. With a single hard drive, it should probably be set to AHCI.  With a RAID setup, it should be set to RAID ON.

Be sure to save the change, if any, when exiting Setup.
