Dell Inspiron 3847 new ram problem.

I bought two 8gb Corsair Vengeance strips of ram for my pc. Installed and got the no signal error message. Did some research and read if I take out the battery to reset BIOS that that might help. I only put one new strip in at this point. I got a message on screen saying bios reset etc, then my pc booted up. I ran Speccy, and it recognized the new 8gb of ram. Turned pc off, threw other strip in......No signal. Tried one 8gb with my old 4gb strip. No signal. Tried that one 8gb strip that had worked before.....Now,no signal. Any ideas?

hagar63,

Verify the memory meets the below specs.

Memory module connectors Two SODIMM connectors
Memory module capacities 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB
Memory type 1600 Mhz SoDIMM DDR3
Minimum memory 2 GB
Maximum memory 16 GB

If the memory does not work in the computer return it for correct memory.

Jesse, thanks for the reply. I'm assuming you are talking about the new Corsiar ram I'm trying to install?

Here's the specs for it I pulled off their site:

Density: 16GB (2x8GB)

Speed: 1600MHz

Tested Latency: 10-10-10-27

Voltage: 1.5V

Format: Unbuffered DIMM

Pin Out: 240 Pin

Intel XMP 1.3

Heatspreader: Vengeance LP

Hope that helps?

I'm at a loss when it comes to techy stuff like that. The fact that one strip worked and then wouldn't after I put the second one is is baffling me.
