Casting to monitor
I have a new Dell UltraSharp U2414H 23.8 inch Widescreen IPS LCD Monitor with a Dell AC511 Wired Active soundbar.
If I wanted to cast my phone screen and audio to the monitor, is this possible and how would I do it please?

Hi EskimoDave,
Thanks for posting. Unfortunately, it's difficult to diagnose your issue without knowing the computer model and operating system. Please post that so the experts here can answer.
Additionally, the monitor itself is not a wifi monitor, you may need to look at these:

Hi Robert. Surely the computer has nothing to do with it? Or is there a way to cast to a computer which then displays it? I've never heard of such a thing but I have an Intel NUCi7iBNH running Windows 10 64 bit.
When you say WiFi Monitor. what does that exactly mean?

Ahh got you. Could I not use a Chromecast in my U2414H? Would that work? I think there are 2 hdmi inputs to it.

Apologies that you were unable to follow the link in my previous post. Here's the definition:
Dell wireless monitors enables your Windows laptop computer, Android smartphone or tablet with Miracast capability to display the screen image to the monitor using a Wi-Fi Direct interface.

One issue is the MHL connection. Chrome cast uses FULL SIZE HDMI. I also don't know that MHL passes thru any power or supports 4k. Intel has abandoned Miracast and WIDI. Micro USB to HDMI is not passive nor is it Bi Directional. Nor is Display port to HDMI bi directional or passive. Wi-Fi Direct interface WIDI is not compatible with Chromecast.

MHL is not full size HDMI :emotion-3:
Display Port is not bi directional Either.
Note that the MHL input ports are NOT the same size as FULL SIZE HDMI that the Chromecast has.

I have a Roku stick that plugs into an HDMI port on my TV and allows me to 'cast' audio and video from my Android phone to my LG TV. www.roku.com/.../streaming-stick I believe Amazon has a version too.
