Can't uninstall a software program, and cannot install the program either.

Since I had a spyware/virus scare, I cannot open my Vegas 6.0 Video Editor, it say's things are not properly installed, and that I should reinstall. I go to control panel, add/remove programs, and click the Vegas, but all I get is "Invalid Drive: F: /" It will NOT uninstall

I cannot reinstall with my disc because the Vegas on my computer must be uninstalled.

I have a Local Disk (C Then a D: Drive, and a CD DRive (E and a new Harddrive known as Drive G:, which is where I had the Sony Vegas put on.

I fear the virus could have permantly damaged my Vegas, but maybe it didn't. I test other software discs and they are fine. I discovered this AFTER I was off the phone with a Dell Tech who removed the virus for me. I try and try to install my Sony Vegas Disc on, but nothing happens.

I presume you've since rebooted your system? Apps, such as an installer, can sometimes be hooked and until a reboot it won't be release from memory. Sometimes you can use taskman to locate the process and kill it. Outside of this, your best odds will likely be tampering with the registry to remove prior remnants of the app from the system in order to then reinstall. You 'might' can get lucky with an uninstall applet but if it has an installer itself, well, chances are no.

Good luck..
