Can I upgrade my Dell 51FJ8 OptiPlex 9010 SFF Foxconn FCLGA1155 Motherboard?
Hello, I was told I can't upgrade the default CPU of this computer as the processor i7-3770 is the latest version for this model, so i am trying to see, if there is a way that i can upgrade the motherboard of my computer which will allow me to also upgrade the processor or not? So, i need to know if there is any motherboard that is better than what I have which is the Dell 51FJ8 OptiPlex 9010 SFF Foxconn FCLGA1155 Motherboard, that would be compatible with my computer and will let me to upgrade my processor at the saem time. Please help. Thank You.

You'd need to go for a newer generation Optiplex board - 9020 ,9030, etc. -- and there's no guarantee you'll find a drop-in that doesn't require case modification, a different power supply, all new RAM, etc.
This system is not worth upgrading - if you need a faster CPU of a newer generation, you're much better off buying a new system.

You'd be better off replacing the system - there's no guarantee a board from a later model will fit the chassis you have. If you're looking for a newer generation Intel CPU, look for a newer model system.

Thanks for yoyr respnse. The problem is that newer CPU's aren't compatible with this motherboard. So the only way to get a better CPU is by having a better motherboard that would be compatible with my computer, and that is what i am trying to figure out if there are any newer motherboards that are compatible with my computer. Thanks.

Plus you will probably have to budget for a new copy of Windows. The license is tied to the motherboard. OEM versions Windows are only valid for the original hardware.
If you replace the CPU and motherboard, the operating system will not activate.
