Worried About OLED Alienware 13 r3 Delays

Hi,

I ordered an Alienware r13 with the OLED screen a few weeks back and have been informed that I should expect delays. 

I ordered on the 22nd Feb and was told I wouldn't receive the machine till the 5th April.

After contacting customer support I was told the delay is because of "part shortage". I thought this was maybe because of the screen which I read was in short supply.

Now that I have time on my hands I started Googling around to see if these sort of delays are a common thing. It seems that they are and many people end up waiting months. Some of the worse stories include people waiting for months then receiving a faulty item.

Should I be concerned with this delay? Is it worth waiting for?

Hi,

 

Customer support is right, there are some delays due to a part shortage. I don't think you'll need to wait more that what they told you.

Hi,

I ordered my Alienware R3 OLED in January and it took  about 3 weeks later than I thought.  I would not worry much about it.  The new 7700HQ processors were causing some backlog for me since they are very recent.  could also be the case on your behalf.

You will see that it's really worth the wait though. Its jaw-dropping laptop with the nicest screen of any Laptop available.
