windows 10 update problem v1709

Here is the problem and I have no clue what to try and solve it. I go to the update section of settings. I download normally the update and then I restart. My x51 stays at the restart page quite a while, but after this, the pc becomes black and does not proceed to nothing - no boot at all - it remains a black screen (it stayed like that twice for two whole nights).

In order to unfreeze the black screen I have to press contr+alt+del and then it shows the repair page with the alienware logo, it completes the repair and after the repair it restarts / boots normally to windows 10 but NOT updated.

@#Any ideas? I think Im stuck.

Hi ‌,

What's your system revision? X51 R1,R2 or R3?

try with disabled Fast Boot in Windows Power Settings.

also run CMD as Admin and  Copy & Paste following Stuff. hit Enter after you Copy & Paste the Line.

sfc /scannow

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

but even if you manage to install the Update you will probably regret it. i have a Bunch of broken Sh*t now which has to be re-installed. the Update Procedure went very bad for me personally this Time.

First Windows 10 is not compatible with this system, so you could have these kind of problems.

Remember this system has an Integrated video card (HDMI located at the top half of the system) and a Discrete card (HDMI located at the bottom half). Try by connecting the monitor to the Integrated card (restart), then run the update and once is updated, you can go back to the Discrete card.

I mean that the system was not created to support Windows 10, so we don't have drivers for this OS in our website (on this specific model).

Ok I see. Well it's a nice system. I suggest that drivers should be there for x51r2  !

Thnx  !
