why does17 R3 restores Windows to wrong drive
I have an 17 R3 and I wanted to do a reinstall of Windows 10 to give it away but instead of reinstalling to the SSD drive C it did it to the D drive there was no prompt to which drive and now the SSD does not even show up
No Events found!

Hi,
How exactly did you reinstall Windows? Did you use a Windows 10 recovery USB? Once you proceed with the setup installation, it should give you the choice to do an upgrade or custom install. You have to choose custom for it to allow you to choose which HDD/SSD you want to install Windows in.

From a USB and no option were given I took it to Staples they reinstalled it remotely same result installed on D drive and C drive was not even listed in Disk management either way i did get solved and was finely on C drive but I don't know how
