Upgrading my Aurora r3
Hey guys,
I'm just curious about upgrading my Computer, I think its pretty standard to upgrade my Graphics card, just connect it in and install drivers,
but what i'm wondering about is the processor.
My computer stats are as follows,
Processor i7 920 running at 2.66hrz,
12g ram,
saphire graphics card,
Motherboard is (Alienware Aurora ALX H869MW MS - 7591 VER:1.0),
So I'm curious as to how to upgrade from a i7 920, to a i7 7700k,
what is the right way to go about it for this motherboard, I have a bit of computer experience but never changed a processor chip before so I want to make sure I know what I'm doing is right.

You can't since the socket is different. You would have to either select a better socket-1366 i7-9xx processor
or
replace the cpu, motherboard, and ram.
An advanced project and not worth it in my opinion. Save your money and buy a new machine.
