Upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 on Alienware X51 R2 and bluetooth stopped working.

The device manager states that the bluetooth is working and that there's a driver installed called DW1550 Bluetooth 4.0 LE.

However, when I turn bluetooth on and scan, it fails to detect any devices.

Any ideas what went wrong?

Hi,

Try by reinstalling this driver:

Thanks!

It didn't initially install properly; it said the installation failed, citing a missing .dll file. I rebooted and tried again and it installed no problem.

But then when I opened bluetooth it said "your bluetooth radio is on but not discoverable" and asked me to click on the message but that didn't do anything. Eventually I went to services.msc and in there I saw that Bluetooth Support Service was set to disabled on startup type. I set it to automatic and straight away my devices became discoverable in Bluetooth.

Appreciate the help, couldn't have done it without you.
