"Switch Graphic Card" message spamming while connected to AC Adapter

Normally I run my Alienware 17 laptop on NVIDIA discrete graphics with integrated graphics disabled. However, I have recently been getting spammed with the following message while plugged into my AC adapter: "Switch Graphic Card. For optimal batter life, press Fn+F5 to switch to integrated graphics (A System Reboot is required)".

I noticed this a couple of days ago because as soon as I plug in my AC adapter while playing a game (for instance Lord of the Rings Online) my fps drops significantly. I realized that if I hit ctrl+alt+delete that the message above keeps popping up. If I close the message a new one keeps popping up until I unplug the AC adapter.

To my knowledge, it is normal for the message to appear when connecting/disconnecting the AC adapter for the first time, but I cannot figure out why it is spamming me with that message even after I initially close it. I have tried updating my NVIDIA graphics card, have switched my computer from integrated graphics to discrete graphics and back to integrated graphics again, have made sure that NVIDIA is selected as my discrete graphics, and have updated my BIOS. None of these are helping.

If anyone knows what is going on or if there is a way to disable that notification, I would really appreciate it!

P.S. My AC adapter is working fine (it is not loose or damaged) and I ran diagnostics upon startup that showed all systems running at 100%.

After much further research, I was able to find a way to disable the notification.

Windows+R, type msconfig, then click the startup tab. Open Task Manager and disable Alienware On-Screen Display. Reboot the computer and the popup doesn't appear anymore.

There could be a problem with the connector where the AC adapter plugs in the computer. The only thing left to rule out any software possibility is to reinstall the OS again. If by any chance the problem persisits and you are still under warranty send me your system's infomation via PM to help you out right away.
