Setting Tactx macro keys to repeat?

I have arthritis and need to set up my 'macro keys' to repeat combinations of keys.  I can set them to do it a single time, but not so that they repeat.  (IE: CTRL + Z repeating as long as I hold the key down)

Any ideas?

TIA

Sounds like you might have to move to (more feature rich) 3rd-party Windows Macro-Key software.

I have the Alienware 17 R4. Hope you have an answer I'm happy

with...........because I tried plugging my my logitech keyboard and the

Hmm. I don't remember what kind of Macro capability the Logitech Gaming Software has, but if it's not working, it might be conflicting with Tact-X software.

It's been so long since I had an Alienware laptop in front of me (I have Alienware desktops).

1. So, were you using Tact-X software with your Alienware17-R4's built-in keyboard, or did you have an external USB Tact-X keyboard connected?

2. Does Tact-X software have it's own UI, or is it integrated into Command Center?

3. In Programs and Features, does it list Tact-X program separately from Alienware Command Center?

Thanks for the questions.

1. Keyboard came with laptop

2. It's in the Command Center

3. Cannot find Programs and Features, can only find Apps and Features and

it's not a separate item. Only part of Command Center. Maybe I looked in

the wrong place (Win 10, settings, system, apps and features)

I escalated this and unfortunately looks like the macro keys wont repeat combinations of keys.

Thank you so much. I hope they work on that. We arthritics still like to

play games on top of the line laptops.............

Then maybe you could explain how to disable Tact-X so user can use USB-based External Keyboard (with Macro-Key ability) and/or 3rd Party Macro software that enables the (common) macro feature they require.

Only thing that might work is to uninstall the command

center.............but haven't tried it.

I don't know what keyboard you are using, but I have repeatable macros using the Logitech G15 (I don't know that they make this any longer, but i know they have newer versions).

You just need to download the logitech software, they have an almost identical macro maker, but you can choose a Repeat Frequency on your macro.

I hope this helps!

Hey ladidog1950;

I was after a similar function -

The best way to macro to have an infinite loop effect is to:

start recording >> press down the combination >> stop recording while the combined keys are pressed down.

To get out of the loop, macro the second key: start recording >> press the combination but do not hold (without recording delays) >> stop recording.

Macro 1 would initiate the loop while the second would terminate it.

Hope it helps : )
