Screen flicker Alienware 17 r3 after adding ram
I have a new Alienware 17 r3 it came with 8 gb of ram, I just added 2x16gb of corsair 2133 ram. When I powered back the screen started to flicker, it is very pronounced in the desktop when I open the start menu. I verified the BIOS was up to date. I put the old ram in and the flicker went away.
I verified that this computer is rated for 32gb's so I am wondering what I may be doing wrong or if I need to update other items to make this work.
Any help is appreciated!

Could be many things, from firmware to hardware specifics. We normally use Samsung, Kingston, Toshiba and Hynix.

Hi,
That brand is not compatible with this system.
The RAM could be causing electrical interference. Try only one stick at the time, if it happens on both, it would be better to return it and get a different brand (Samsung, Hynix). If it happens only on one, then you should contact the seller.

Bummer...I have sent the ram back for an exchange.....but if what you are saying is true it will do no good. What makes a brand "compatible" I thought if I stayed with ddr4 2133 MHz I would be good?
