Recommendations for a good CPU Fan
I bought an X51 R3 back in December 2015 and I upgraded my CPU from an i3 (forget the exact specs) to an i7 6700k @4.00GH. My CPU fan seemed to do fine at first, but now it runs rather loud. It's always been a bit louder than I preferred anyway, but now I am concerned that the fan is not cooling properly. I am looking into upgrading the fan to a better one but all the ones I came across seemed pretty cheap for what I expected. Due to the size of the case, I can't seem to use a cooler master, so I am looking for a smaller, compact fan that is more silent than the current one I have, but can still keep the cpu cool. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hi Flinter_,
We do not support mods, so we can't suggest any other fan. But just in case if you don't get an answer from another user, you can also try posting this on the Notebook Review and Alienware Arena, other users may have recommendations.

IIRC, Alienware offered a custom Asetek sealed Liquid-Cooler for the x51-R3. With an Intel-i7 in that tiny case, that would probably be the best long-term solution.

Hi Flinter_.
i don't own this Model but i glanced over the X51 R3 Manual. it looks bad TBH. you will need to modify some Parts if you want to install an Aftermarket CPU Fan. just take a Look at the Manual yourself and you will see what i meen.

Do you know where I could find something like this? I searched Dell's products and came up empty, on amazon I found this: Amazon.com: Asetek 550LC Liquid Cooler Heatsink For Intel 1156/1155: Computers & Accessories though it doesn't say anything about alienware being the manufacturer.

The one I'm talking about would have a Dell-Part-Number.
Asetek makes the coolers for Dell/Alienware and also HP, Corsair, etc.
