Msi aero
I opened up my aurora r5 for the first time a couple of weeks ago after having it for more than half a year and found that the !070 that came with it was an OEM MSI aero instead of a founders edition that was stated on the website during that time. any reasons why they decided to use a cheaper looking gpu? (its all plastic from what I can see) Every pic was a OEM founders edition on the website too.

You are not the first to notice. Please search for and read the old threads.
IIRC, some initial customers did receive FE-class cards. Dell's response to the others was something like ...
"We starting getting only (the plain-er) OEM Nvidia cards, so that's what we installed and shipped. The changing of the website (text and pics) was delayed a bit."
I got a Dell-OEM GTX-1070 in my Aurora-R6. Yes, it's very similar to a MSI-Aero. It works fine (with proper drivers) and I push it hard. There are also threads here about this card and it's performance.
