memory,upgrades
I just acquired a Alienware 13 R3 laptop. It came with 16GB 2400MHz RAM. I would like to expand the memory to 32GB 2667MHz.
I have seen when you configure a laptop on the Dell website it will only give you options to upgrade to 32GB of RAM at 2400MHz. The 2667MHz option limits you to 16GB.
Is there an compatibility issue with a 32GB 2667MHz memory configuration? Thanks!

Hi bijuts17,
Memory
Slots
Two SODIMM slots
Type
DDR4
Speed
2133 MHz, 2400 MHz, and 2667 MHz
Configurations supported
8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB
32GB should work at 2667, so if it is not available on the website is probably because we do not have the configuration available at the moment.

I'm not sure about your particular laptop, but usually, as you expand memory (especially to max amount) the memory must run SLOWER (not faster than a more normal or mid-line config).
