How can I determine the PSU wattage of Aurora R3?
I have a 2010 Alienware Aurora R3 desktop that sorely needs (at least) a graphics card upgrade. Problem is, I don't know whether I have the 525W or the 875W PSU, and there don't seem to be relevant specs for the power supply anywhere in hardware information gathered from the command line or printed on the visible sections of the installed PSU itself (and I don't have the original manual anymore). I'm guessing the info will be printed on the PSU somewhere, but I'd prefer not to have to dismantle the whole thing -- is there any other way to determine the wattage of my Aurora R3's PSU? All components are the original factory versions.
Key System Specs:
Model: Aurora R3
Manufacture Year: 2010
MoBo: Alienware 046MHW
PSU Serial #: CN-0GX1J7-47985-12I-1396-A00 [DP/N 0GX1J7]
Gfx Cards: 2x GTX 460 in SLI rig

If you bought it new from Dell, you can look-up your Original config at http://support.dell.com by Service-Tag
The large voltage/wattage sticker is on the top of the Power-Supply, but it's hidden until your pop-it-out.
With 2x GTX 460 in SLI, I would be surprised if it wasn't 875w, mainly because both separate PCIe power cables are likely being used, and only the 875w PS makes them both "hot" with power.
Yes, I too would verify it somehow if you don't already know for sure.

Hi ,
Send me a private message with the service tag so I can check the original order.

ah, that's the ticket. Good on Dell for keeping records back that far! Looks like I have the 875W PSU, as you suspected.
