Dell Alienware 17 R2, Win 10 battery care
Good day!
I have 1 problem about my battery - system always keep it charged to 100%. Before, when I bought laptop with already installed Windows 8.1, there was utility wich called "Desktop Mode Battery Utility" (Dell Desktop Mode Battery Utility Driver Details | Dell US). It doesn't have to much options for control (stop charge only after 2 week keeping plugged power supply), but anyway it was OK. When I updated my Win 8.1 to Win 10, this utility was still working. Few days ago my HDD with OS with all programs/settings are dead, so I installed from zero Win 10 on new HDD, but now it's not possible to install Desktop Mode Battery Utility by reason that it's only for Win 8. Also I tried to install Dell QuickSet Application Driver Details | Dell US to got in Windows Mobility Center additional keys "Customized by Dell Inc.", but this app only for Inspiron laptops.
Now I don't have any possibility to control my battery charge...is there any solutions for this problem?
Thanks in advance

Hi astral077,
The Desktop Mode Battery Utility is not supported in Windows 10, sometimes you might be able to get something similar if you install Support Assist, but not all the times.

Should be fine to just run it on battery (down to 20-25%) ... about once a week.
But generally Li-Poly and Li-Ion batteries like to stay charged-up while idle.
I would not worry about it, but they do make those old-school AC-Power-Timers like for Christmas lights. Seems like that would work.
