Can't update bios on my brother's area 51 r2 (currently still on A1)
Hey there,
My brother has been experiencing WHEA uncorrectable errors for a while now, usually it's when he first turns on the PC and launches his game. The PC seems to be able to run stresstests for days so it doesn't seem to be any sort of overheating issue.
When the blue screen occurs its not instant, it goes in horizontal stripes from the top down and is extremely laggy. Even when the text starts appearing it is litterally one character at a time.
I've ran the dell diagnostic test and updated the drivers but I can't seem to get any sort of Bios update working. Through other posts on here I've found direct links to the download pages for the bios updates A2-A3-A4-A8-A9-A10-A11-A12 but I can't seem to get any of them to work.
I've tried power drains for A2 A3 and A4 since it seemed to work for someone else on here a few days ago (A4 that is) but I haven't had any luck so far. Should I try to flash A2 onto the board through USB? I've read in the notes that either A2 or A3 added Win10 support however the PC is already running Win10, could this be the problem? And finally the .exe file for A2 has a different description and icon compared to the others, is this normal?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Since there is no dos anymore many of the new bios will not install unless run as adminstrator AND the Management engine and chipset drivers MUST BE installed first. Any Antivirus software should be uninstalled then the bios updated.

firstable forget BIOS A02 Version. it was Buggy anyway.
have you tried Clear CMOS + Power Drain?
you can try to Update your BIOS via USB Drive. you will need the AMIBOOT.ROM File.
