Brand new Aurora not performing as well as to be expected?
I have a brand new Alienware Aurora R6 with the below specs and I've notice FPS drops even on lower end settings in Overwatch and Player Unknowns Battlegrounds, in Overwatch I experience the FPS drops even on medium to low settings and in Player Unknowns Battlegrounds I get them even with everything on Very Low except the view distance which I have at Medium. What could be causing my system to perform so poorly or am I mistaken and is it performing as you would expect it to? How can I fix it if something is wrong?
CPU: i7 7700k w/liquid cooling

Hi.
your PC should be more than capable to run this stuff. my Brother plays Overwatch with his GTX 1080 with no Issues.
first thing you could do is run the EPSA Test. hit F12 during Boot Up. tell us if there are any Errors. and please watch the Temperatures. it could be the CPU Overheating and Throtteling for Example.

If you want to run Heaven or free 3DMark ... we can compare scores if you want.
What Nvidia driver are you running?

Thanks for the suggestions, the EPSA test didn't find any errors, though when it asked if I wanted to run more memory tests I didn't because it said it would take hours, should I have had it run the rest of the tests or are those unnecessary?
My CPU is liquid cooled and unless I game on it for hours on high settings I don't usually see it go above 60 much less up to a temp that would cause it to throttle, my GPU on the other hand throttles at 82 but playing on the lower settings it never gets that high either but I still experience the FPS drops, so I don't believe temperature is an issue at lower graphics settings.

If you could run it on your Aurora R6 I would like to see how mine is running to as similar a machine as possible, thanks

Hmm, yeah ... looks like something is not quite right. Especially since I just have a GTX-1070 in my Aurora-R6. Maybe a simple setting in Nvidia Control Panel? You don't have your Vertical Sync forced on Always do you?
This is the Extreme preset (like you used) ... which ends up being a (smaller) window on the desktop.

okay. your Hardware seems to be fine, so we don't have to worry about that.
you should do the Memory Test at some Point. your PC is new and you should do that anyway. Save is Save you know?
something is Bottlenecking your Games and the entire System Performance. next Time you're playing the Game open the Task Manager (Performance Tab) and see what happens. it could be the Hard Disk running at 100% or your CPU not Boost to 4,5 GHz for Example.
do you have any Anti-Virus Software installed? AVG or Norton AV do that very often.
