I checked last night, and it wasn't there so thanks for the heads up.
The total lack of any transparency around updates and issues with Alienware is very concerning. The release notes for this BIOS update are, shall we say - sparse?

Absolutely no mention of any of the features/changes in the versions previously released and then pulled - are they included in this version, or not? With those pages deleted, none of the public has any record of what those previous changes were.
No mention of why the previous versions were pulled, so everybody who suffered from the issues caused by those releases had to deal with them with little guidance; can't believe it didn't cost Dell a lot in support costs, as well as frustrating their customers.

Has this been tested? Is it safe to install?

@Tazdog45 the file runs and updates the BIOS, system boots OK.
As far as anything else is concerned, we're all pretty much in the dark - but if there is any chance this will fix the appalling reliability of my 17R3, I'm desperate enough to try it.
So far, so good...

These are all the details that we've got about it. I asked engineering and they didn't have any additional details.

...and an update after installing 1.2.15
Like some others here, I've been experiencing a coloured stripe across the lower screen during boot; after this update, this has gone. AFAIK this was a purely cosmetic thing, didn't seem to have any other effects.
UNFORTUNATELY the update does NOT address the appalling unreliability of my system, it still randomly freezes, as it has done from new.

As illustrated below, none of my major issues were resolved in release 1.2.15. My 17 R3 still randomly crashes when shutting down and freezes for 2 minutes on resume from sleep at least twice a week. I'm also getting the dreaded BSOD iastora.sys error when the computer is idle at least once a week. It seems like my system was more stable at 1.2.13. I think its time to call support.
