Bad Pool Caller Crash
Hello, I'm asking about this issue I've recently been having. Whenever I use multiple tabs in a web browser my laptop crashes and gets a "bad_pool_caller" error message. I've looked up fixes online and nothing has worked. So far I've:
My laptop is the Alienware 15 R3 - 2016
- Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox- crashed - failed
- tried Edge - crashed - failed
- Windows Update- no updates - failed
- checked ram - ram is fine - failed
- cleaned registry w/cc cleaner pro - failed
- reboot - failed
- updated video drivers - failed
- cleaned temp files on system etc - failed
I don't know what to do. I really don't want to restore my laptop to factory settings as that is a massive workload to re set up all of my programs on my laptop. #badpoolcaller #crash

Hi emperorofpi,
Does the same thing happens with every browser? Have you tried Chrome?

Hallo emperorofpi.
download and run BlueScreenView, then Post a Screenshot here. worked this Week already for another User here so let's try it with your Laptop as well.
my guess just for Fun:
1. Eye Tracking
2. Killer Software (again)

Thanks for your help. I've tried Chrome, Edge, and Internet Explorer. They all run fine, for some reason Firefox crashes with "bad_pool_caller" and no other program causes that. I've tried installing and uninstalling it. No luck. It also crashes every time I attempt to log in to OneDrive. I can easily log into OneDrive with the other browsers. All the scans I've preformed have showed no issues. I'm stumped. I really like Firefox, but I can't use it if it keeps crashing my laptop. I'm going to heavily use the other browsers and make sure that they are 100% fine.

Ok, so yes, looks like the issue is with Firefox. Keep trying the other browser to see if the will work fine.

AW 15 R3 new owner - Max-Q i7-7820hk 32Gb RAM. Barely one week old since this new system arrived.
Latest BIOS. OC is OFF. Stable at first. Want a clean start for my content creation new workstation - so I kept installed programs to generic and minimum. I haven't even installed Steam and games. Haven't run bench-marking yet. Tobii is not even installed nor turned on.
EDIT - checked Device Manager. No exclamation marks.
This BSOD BPC issue happened a few times already - seems to be only during net surfing. Programs opened: FireFox, OneNote (signed in), Chrome. Firefox latest version. FireFox seems to trigger heavy fan throttle on certain websites, and was being used during the last Bad Pool Caller BSOD.
On WiFi when it happened.
Read forum, uninstalled Killer Performance Suite.
Will keep track and report.

I just want to confirm: since I uninstalled Killer Performance Suite I have not experienced any BSOD with Bad Pool Caller. Whether using WiFi (since I got AW15 2 weeks ago) or using LAN (for the last 2 days).
I also purposely used only Firefox (latest version) with multiple YouTube tabs opened.
I am now testing with Chrome, which is more stable with YouTube.
So this particular BSOD is not Firefox + YouTube.
For Dell tech support - it seems Windows sound cards/ USB-audio related BSOD have been rampant recently, correlated with intense web browsing. Many sound card manufacturers (Asus and M-audio etc) have been blamed but the root cause is probably higher level in Windows 10.

Hi.
this Killer Software Issue is known and affects other Brands as well. i always try to install Drivers only or make sure the Software doesn't launch with Windows. you can disable it in Windows Task Manager. i don't understand why Manufacturers don't offer Drivers Only Downloads. no one is using the Killer Suite anyway.
