AW Command Center fails to startup after cold boot

Hi, I had this problem before and it was gone for a while then it came back, whenever I start my 13R3 from a cold state the CC fails to startup, the tray icon glows red and exits. However, if I restart or shut down the machine for a while then start it up again it works normally, it seems to do this behavior only if the machine was off for a long period plus an hour or so, it's very weird.
I tried :

Complete Reinstalling of the CC

Complete Reinstalling of Windows

Hi daggron‌,

Make sure the BIOS is up to date.

Also try a power drain: unplug every external device from the system (including the AC Adapter), open the bottom cover and disconnect the battery cable. Then hold the power button for around a minute to drain all the power out.

Use this video to see how to disconnect the battery cable (second 41): New Alienware 13 R3: Clear CMOS Battery - YouTube

Try turning off Windows-10's "Fast Startup".

The first out of the box solution, thanks, I will try it out but I need to shut it down for an hour or so to confirm if it worked or not. I'll do that and give you my feedback.

I had the same problem on my Area-51 R2. The CC stopped working after almost every bootup and in the Win 10 Reliability Report I had an error reported every time it stopped. The CC worked well (up to the next reboot) if I manually started it again.

A complete reinstall of Win 10 (clean reinstall on formated drive) fixed the issue for a while. But then it reappeared. I think it has something to do with custom Alien FX Profiles ...

What finally did the trick for me was turning AlienFX off and on again via the CC software!

Just right click on the Alienhead tray icon and turn it off. (It's the third option counted from the top. Don't use the last option (Quit? I have the german Version installed, so I only can tell that you have to use "Ausschalten", and not "Beenden" ...), because this one only stops the AlienFX Software). After that, right click on it again and turn it on.

It was Windows fast startup, I turned it off and everything is working fine, thank you for the feedback, I hope my case can help others.

Thanks for sharing, what did for me was turning off the Windows fast startup option.

You are welcome.

That option is a possible fix or work-around (for various things) when users observe a Reset or warm-reboot acting different that a Shut-Down and cold-boot.

But what causes this exactly, should I reinstall windows again ?! I did it like 4 times already and the issue persists.

I don't have the knowledge to pin-point a specific cause (I didn't build the machine or write the Device Drivers).

I think how Windows machines and 100% of the devices don't always initialize and work properly after waking from Sleep is a similar scenario. It's not that rare in my experiences.

You should know that "Fast Startup" provides very little (if any) benefit if the machine boots from a SSD.
