Aurora R6 PSU whine - options?
I recently got Aurora R6 with two 1080 Ti.
Under load I get the same issue as everybody else struggle with - coil whine, noises, etc. from the power supply.
I have the Delta 850W version. Dell replaced it with new PSU, again the same Delta 850W. The problem is still there.
It is obviously a weak PSU for this system, despite being "multi-GPU certified". At the purchase point you can not configure Aurora with stronger PSU.
My question is - can I fit in the Area 51 PSU 800GY ? Both are modular and the cables panel look the same.
Thanks

800GY, huh. It needs the high-amp cord, C19 type > Alienware Area 51 Power Cord
The length is approx. 8 9/16" / 217mm, measure yours & decide. The 850 / 1500 have the same front panel & pinout, this assures that one Area-51 case harness can accommodate both chassis, from there, Aurora has to be compatible > if it can use the 850 N1WJD it can use 800GY, but can the length and height fit, you'll have to measure or just try it to see. I've got the 850 & 1500 but can't get to them to measure their height to see if they're the same, I think they are but can't remember; most PSUs tend to be 86mm high = 3.38 inches (~3 3/8). Maybe you'd measure the height of your 850 then message the vendor you plan to buy from, can they measure theirs. Personally I'd try the EVGA 850 G3, with a shorter chassis, however, if you have the Delta 850's custom case harness for Aurora, 800GY might be worth the try, because it has re-sale value if it doesn't fit or is too long and what not (sell it & try an aftermarket type like G3). Dark Power Pro 11 850w or 1000w platinum is another worth looking at (make sure it comes the black cables). Let us know if it works

The 850W N1WJD Delta power supply is about 7.5'' / 190mm long, so there is a inch difference. By looking at the Aurora R6 internals I do not see how it can fit w/o changing/cutting the PSU holder. So it is no-go
