Aurora R6 automatic restart after shutdown after installing drivers from SupportAssist
Got a new R6 Aurora a month ago. Today, 11/22/2017, support assist popped up with new drivers and downloads. There were 3 updates, 2 recommended and 1 urgent.
The 2 recommended were Seira ATA - Intel Rapid Storage driver and Video - Intel HD Graphics Driver. The 1 urgent was the bios update.
The 3 updates were successfully installed and I thought everything was okay. Then I went to shutdown the computer, and it automatic restart after few seconds.
Google search suggested disabling "Turn on fast startup". But, it was already off when this all happened. So just to try everything out, I toggled it on to see it helps. It does, the computer shuts off after toggling on fast startup, and it automatically restarts when toggling off fast startup.
Anyone also having the same problem? Did installing these driver updates screwed up my computer? It was working great before the updates. I can just keep fast startup on I guess, but I feel like the computer is now broken..

Hi timewatch,
It's not broken. You could try re-flashing the BIOS or doing a system restore. However, we do not believe that the current behavior is detrimental for the PC. Fast startup does help you to get faster into the OS, that's it.

I'm just worried since all the suggestions were to turn off fast startup, not to turn it on. I already did a system restore to about a week before. That did not help. I probably won't mess with the BIOS.
Also, if I boot up with fast startup on, I can turn it off and shutdown. It'll stay shut off. But once I boot up again, it won't stay shutdown unless I turn fast startup back on.
I did noticed during updating, the update for Intel HD graphic driver took unusually long. Maybe its normal, but I feel like it might have messed up windows 10. (also, the r6 is using a 1070, so there's no need to update this at all, so would uninstalling the drivers for this be safe?)
Another thing I noticed, when shutting down the computer, the power button used to turn off pretty fast, then the monitor turns off. Now, it seems the power button lingers on a bit before turning off. Then the monitor display 'no signal' (which is normal), and then the computer boots back on.

"Then the monitor display 'no signal' (which is normal), and then the computer boots back on"... so, you're saying that every time you turn the system off, it will turn on again?

No I'm not saying every time, it only does that if I boot up without the fast startup. In fact, if I boot up with fast start up and then turn it off, the computer will still shut down normally - at least for one time. The fix is making sure fast start is on.

Okay, I believe I finally found the real problem! I was looking through system logs, and the bluetooth device was spitting out warnings something about low energy controller state or something. I had the bluetooth turned off few weeks ago (with no problems).
So just to try things out, I turned bluetooth on again. And the computer now shuts down with no restart even with fast start off! The system log is still showing the same warning though, but the computer is now working normally again!
