Aurora r5 memory

I have one of the Aurora R5 computers with the I7-6700K processors and one stick of 16 GB of DDR4 2133 MHZ RAM.  I want to add more memory to the R5 but for the moment I can only afford the 8 GB ram stick that Dell sells. This is the part number Dell part A8781359.  Since I am only adding one stick that will get my system to 24 GB of RAM. Will that affect performance in any way?

Don't install an extra 8GB stick of RAM with your current setup. It won't help and it may make your system unstable. 16GB is way more than enough for most current games and desktop tasks, and your current setup is great. But if you want to see a slight bump in performance, buy a 2 pack of RAM (2x 8GB at 2400mhz or 2x 16GB at 2133mhz or 2x 8GB at 2133mhz) and be sure to install the two sticks in the same colored slots for dual channel capability. If you want to do that, you don't have to buy those from dell. Also, if you do that, don't keep the original 16GB stick installed. Memory works best (or doesn't malfunction) when the exact same type is installed in dual slots.

It shouldn't and if it does it wouldn't be noticeable.

Hi,

No, it should not affect the performance.
