aurora r5 fan noise

My system is quiet during games, BUT a very loud fan noise starts (LIKE A SUPER POWERED HOOVER) after I exit a game, or even during menus.  It's like the system does its cooling fine under load, but when there's no longer high load, some fan goes into overdrive to cool down. It's particularly annoying when I got to a menu during a game, as the load also drops there and the fan goes crazy.  It's loud enough that my wife prefers to leave the room.  I checked the thermal controls, and shutting down the three fans that I can control (cpu, front, top) did not stop the noise.  The gpu fan is also displayed, and it wasn't spinning fast.  Also, I heard them spin up, and they don't make that much noise. I don't know which other fan may be making that noise, but it's ugly. 

Any thoughts before I call tech support? The fan noise is really bad, makes me dread quitting a game or going into menus. I don't understand how it can be just fine during demanding gameplay, and then be really loud afterwards.
