Aurora R4 Won't Save Some BIOS Changes
G'day guys.
I recently changed over a motherboard in an Aurora R4 and now it will save some changes to the BIOS, but not others. For instance it remembers the date/time and if I set a supervisor password, but doesn't remember changes to the boot order.

Hi,
Which device do you want to boot from? What do you have set for the BOOT Mode?

It's currently set to boot from PXE first, I want it to boot from the HDD.
Boot mode is legacy.

Hi,
Try changing the Boot Mode to UEFI, then save the changes and restart the system. Let us know how it goes.

It doesn't keep the change, just goes back to Legacy.

I have the same issue. No matter how I modify BIOS boot order, then saving changes, upon restart no change saved. I have updated to A11, the latest. Please advise.

Yeah I tried that. I even tried a few older BIOS versions. None of them helped.

If having trouble with PXE or other boot Prorities "sticking" in BIOS ... check options like UEFI/Legacy and SecureBoot.

If set to "Windows Boot Manager" ... it does exactly that ... Windows controls the boot, not the BIOS exclusively . That only happens when set to Legacy.

Hi,
thank you for your reply. Unfortunatley, my issue is regarding the save of settings in BIOS. I look at the SecureBoot as you said, but when i change this setting, it is not saved. So when I reboot my computer, the BIOS has default settings again.
Of course, I have changed the BIOS battery but it won't help. So I have exactly the same issue than the original question of this thread: some settings of the BIOS can be saved but most of the other cannot including boot order.

Is system in UEFI mode or Legacy Boot mode?

Here is a screenshot of the boot BIOS page.
If I change "Boot Mode", "boot order (1st, 2nd ...)" or "Secure Boot Control", the settings are not saved (i.e. when i reboot my computer, the bios has the settings below). The only parameters that i can change are the "device bbs priorities". For example the "network device bbs priorities" is by default to enable and i set it to disable. In this case, the setting has been saved.
Very Strange.

If in Legacy (non-UEFI) mode and SecureBoot OFF, it would be un-common for BIOS options to "not stick".
However, remember that some BIOS options are settable, but also depend on what they detect at boot-time.
Maybe your motherboard is malfunctioning? You could try loading BIOS defaults or even re-flashing the BIOS ... but try not to "brick" or kill it.

Hi,
Thank you for your help.
One more detail: my BIOS was perfectly functionning until few days ago. Last week, without any reason, he refused to save changes. It wasn't the case before.
