Aurora R4 Fan Noise reboot start up alternative - solved-

For those of you that still want to keep your Aurora R4 but do not like the Fan Noise during reboot, back from sleep, etc. I tried multiple options and failed until I tried the hardware below. yes, it is a new hardware but it fixed the problem and it comes with a software that provides better flexibility compared to the Alienware Thermal Controller in the R4.

The hardware is CORSAIR Commander PRO, CL-9011110-WW, Digital Fan and RGB Lighting Controller

It requires power from one of the available SATA connectors and a connection to the internal USB port on the motherboard close to the graphic card. Also since my liquid cooling pump failed, I replaced it with the H80i v2. The Commander Pro comes with all the cables, extension and temperature sensors too!!

My configuration is now H80iV2 usb connected to the Corsair Commander Pro

PCI Fan connected to FAN#1 on the Corsair Commander Pro

Hard Drive/Disk Fan connected to FAN#2 on the Corsair Commander Pro

Temperature  Sensor placed next to the Hard Drive/Disk#1 and connected to Temp #1 on the Corsair Commander Pro

Temperature Sensor placed next to the Hard Drive Disk # 2 and connected to Temp #2 on the Corsair Commander Pro

USB from Corsair Commander Pro connected to the internal motherboard USB as explained above.

Corsair Link Software downloaded and installed , it is free!.

It works great and you can even drag and drop the Fan, Temp, Fan labels on the picture of the computer case and you know where the temp is coming from visually. The speed control is also great with multiple profiles and custom configuration.

I am very happy with this option, no expensive, works great and I can continue with my Aurora R4!!! :-)

You can also use Noctua's fans. They are pretty silent. My NH U9S (NF A9) never makes any noise. In fact, I put an iPPC 2000 and it never sounds like a turbine.

I will make myself a note.  I think the Corsair Command Pro plus the Noctua's fans will be the perfect match. The problem I experience and could not solved is that every time the computer was rebooted and brought back from sleep it used to spin the fans at 100% until someone logged in and the thermos controller were loaded or re-loaded. Since  I had unattended backup at nigh , the backup used to waked me up....no more 100% speed even at reboot.

Thank you for sharing Rhenium and I will take a look to the Noctua fan.
