AreA 51 R2 Software Man?

  Here  I go.  Using I& 5930.  (late2014 build) I have win7 ultimate and 1 hdd(4tb)  1 ssd(256 gb).

I wish to install a second 4tb hdd.

Install win 10  ON the HDD's  in RaiD 0.  AND cache with the 256 gb ssd.  (I like it).

Question is.. (after reading some forums)..  I should boot in with win7 , changing BIOS to boot in RaiD    mode  for the 2 hdd's.. ( ??  or just select  RaiD as ssata mode for the 2 hdds). Reboot from usb with win 10 install stick.  Cleaning all drive..

After installed , install IRST drivers.. shutdown.  move ssd to 3.5" slot.. check sata boot x3.   This would keep win 10  from being installed partially on the ssd.?)

boot in to  win 10   setup caching in IRST..

Install rest of drivers and programs..

                            Y  or  N    ?

RAID-0 on desktops is risky business. Especially with 2 large spinning drives. All it takes is one small glitch on either of the 2 drives, and you loose everything on both. At the very least, it needs a constant backup.

Try this, no RAIDs

C: SSD boot - Windows OS and all programs. Everything will be fast.

D: 4tb #1 Data, Large Games, or whatever

E: 4tb #2 Whole system image backups. In external USB-3 is best so you can grab it quick or take off-site.

If you truly have a need for large amounts of local storage, I suggest you look into a Synology NAS, RAID or Enterprise-class drives, and a nice APC or CyberPower battery unit for it.
